What to do in Jávea in winter?

Do you think there is nothing to do in Jávea in winter? Well, keep reading, because we tell you about the fun plans that this city on the Costa Blanca has in store for you during the coldest months of the year.

Events

Fortunately, Jávea is the second city in the world with the best microclimate, the average annual temperature is 19 degrees Celsius. This makes this town on the Costa Blanca one of the friendliest in Spain.

Perhaps for this reason, its Patron Saint’s Day is celebrated in winter. The Festivity of San Antonio is held during the month of January, with different activities such as the “Crema del Pi” and the blessing of the Plaza Constitución.

In addition, throughout the month of December the town hall organizes concerts, presentations, children’s theater, art exhibitions, crafts and other activities to celebrate the Christmas holidays. Here is a link, where you can see the agenda.

Routes

During the summer we want to spend as much time as possible at the beach, enjoying the sun and the sea. Maybe that’s why you won’t have time to complete the route of the 14 viewpoints of Javea. It is simply fantastic and worthy of the best photographs. Four of the viewpoints are located on the capes: Cape San Antonio, Cape San Martín or Cap Prim, Cape Negre and Cape La Nao. From north to south, you can visit the viewpoints of Molins, Cap de Sant Antoni, Punta del Arenal, Sequia de la nortia, Cala Blanca, Caletes, Portixol, l’Illa, La Falzia, Cap Negre, Cap de la Nao, Pesqueres, Ambolo, Castell de la Granadella and, finally, Granadella.

Historical center

If you are one of those who enjoy walking through narrow streets with gothic details and arched portals with rough stones, then you will love the Historic Center of Jávea.

We recommend you to visit the Church of San Bartolomé, from the XIV to the XVI century, an example of Elizabethan Gothic. On both sides of the church you will find the Municipal Food Market (1946), which has become a “must” for gastronomic tourists; and the Town Hall (18th century, renovated in the 20th century).

Here’s a tip: every Thursday between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm. the weekly flea market is held in the Plaza de la Constitución and Placeta del Convent.

A little more

The good climate of Jávea allows you to practice hiking and water sports all year round. Kayaking, or fantastic bike trails are just some of the things you can do in charming Jávea. We are waiting for you!
